Shore Points Amateur Radio Club

   Dear SPARC members and friends,

Members of the club have been talking about starting a SPARC HF Net that would be held once a month. At last night's meeting we held a discussion in open forum to see if we could accomplish this in a manner that would include as many people as possible. It was agreed that this Sunday morning, April 19th, at 9:00 AM on the 10 meter band on the frequency of 28.425 MHz USB, we would hold an informal net of sorts to determine just who could contact who and try to establish who could be net control. The criteria for who would be net control would be a current SPARC member who could contact as many participants as possible and is willing to take on the task. If all works out, the first formal net would be held at 9:00 AM on Sunday May 3rd with all subsequent nets being held at 9:00 AM on the first Sunday of each month. Participation in this net will be open to all amateurs as the only limitation on this chosen frequency is that Novice and Technician operators are limited to 200 watts. Spread the word, tell your friends and let's see how many people we can get to join in.

I look forward to seeing you all soon.
